The pool will be closed on days when the forecast is below 70 degrees or for bad weather at our discretion.

Pool Rules

SAFETY

1. Use of the pool facilities are prohibited unless a lifeguard is present.

2. The following safety precautions will be observed at all times:

1. No running within the pool area

2. No pushing, dunking or jumping on people

3. Diving is permitted only in the deep end of the pool

4. Swimmers must be aware of divers and stay clear

 

3. Children under 8 years of age will not be permitted inside the pool enclosure unless accompanied by an adult, family member or babysitter over the age of 18

 

4. Children under the age of 5 years old will not be permitted in the main pool unless supervised by an adult, family member or babysitter over the age of 18 years old.
 

5. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a sibling 13 years or older.
 

6. Lifeguard(s), at any time, may call upon a swimmer to prove his/her ability to swim. If the person cannot prove this ability to swim, he/she will be restricted from using the deep end of the pool.

 

7. The pool and/or the entire premises may be closed when deemed necessary by the pool manager(s) or lifeguard(s) for inclement weather conditions or safety issues.

 

8. Break periods will be at the discretion of the pool manager(s) to rest children as a safety factor and to offer the opportunity for adults 18 years and older to swim. The length of the break will be 15 minutes and typically will be called every hour. This will be enforced throughout the pool season.

9. Clothing or attire that hinders swimmer’s ability to swim is prohibited at all times from the main swimming pool. Clothing that may easily come off or fall off is prohibited from the main pool. If a swimmer is not wearing a bathing suit, the attire MUST BE swimsuit material.

 

10. In the event of thunder/lightning, pool will be closed with no swimming for 30 minutes.



ELIGIBLE USERS

1. The pool facilities may be used ONLY by members in good standing with the Canterbury Woods Homeowner’s Association (CWHA), and members of their immediate family, subject to the provisions of the rules and regulations.
 

2. A member in good standing is defined as a member of CWHA who has paid current annual dues.
 

3. The immediate family of a member is defined as all persons permanently residing in the member household.
 

4. A guest is defined as any person not in the immediate family of a member.
 

5. POOL TAGS MUST BE PRESENTED AND WORN AT ALL TIMES. WE WILL NOT TOLERATE THE EXCHANGE OF POOL TAGS THROUGH THE FENCE OR ANY OTHER WAY. OUR LIFEGUARDS ARE AUTHORIZED TO EJECT ANY SWIMMER OR CWHA MEMBER.


 

GENERAL

1. Residents can bring their own beverages. No glass containers. NO EXCEPTIONS
 

2. Chewing gum or animals are NOT permitted inside pool premises.
 

3. All waste and refuse material must be disposed of in the containers provided.
 

4. No floating objects or foreign matter of any type including rafts, fins and inflatable rings. Sponge nerf balls may be used in the main pool as long as ball playing is under control. Water wings are permitted, but only if a parent or responsible adult is with the swimmer in the pool Noodles are allowed (if not connected to one another) in the main pool only.
 

5. Smoking is strictly prohibited on the pool premises. If found smoking on premises, lifeguard(s) have authority to ask the violator to leave the pool premises immediately. If the lifeguard(s) deem a resident a repeat offender of this rule, the Board of Trustees may revoke the homeowners pool tags for the year.
 

6. THE POOL MANAGER(S), LIFEGUARDS AND/OR OTHER PERSONS DESIGNATED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH THE RESPONSIBILITY OF OPERATING THE POOL FACILITIES AND ENFORCING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO THE USE THEREOF IN A MANNER WHICH WILL BE TO THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CANTERBURY WOODS COMMUNITY. COOPERATION, RESPECT OF THEIR POSITION AND COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS WILL ASSURE EACH OF US A SATISFACTORY USE OF THE CWHA FACILITIES. REPEATED VIOLATIONS OF ANY RULES WILL RESULT IN RESTRICTION OF INDIVIDUAL PRIVILEGES AND/OR DENIAL OF THE USE OF THE POOL FACILITIES.
 

7. While every precaution will be exercised for the safety of the people using the pool, the CWHA, its trustees and/or employees assume no responsibility in the case of accident, injury, death or loss of personal property.
 

8. The CWHA reserves the right to change, alter, revise and amend these rules and regulations at any time in the interest of the safety, health and well-being of the members and their guests.
 

9. Clothes, towels, pool toys, etc. left at the pool for more than 1 week will be collected and disposed.
